If you're after an eerie-yet-historical adventure, look no further than one of Victoria's most atmospheric haunted venues, the former St. Arnaud Convent in Victoria.
Built in 1903, the convent was operated by the Sisters of Mercy who arrived in St Arnaud in 1901, at the behest of Father Gerald Doyle.
It served as a boarding college, orphanage and home for the sisters for over eighty years, finally closing in 1986.
The present-day operators claim that the "nuns are still in charge" of the building. Guests have reported seeing and hearing the nuns and the children, and hearing footsteps, voices, shadows, unexplained movements in dormitories, classrooms and the chapel.
This place isn't just for casual ghost story seekers. The building itself, being old, dark in places, with many rooms, hallways and hidden corners, naturally lends itself to spooky vibes.
There is something undeniably magnetic about the Old Convent. It's candlelit corridors whisper stories from another time, a time when the nuns walked the halls in quiet prayer, and secrets were sealed behind heavy oak doors.
PAA Mech will be available for purchase after dinner. On occasion Haunted Hardware will be attending, and paranormal equipment can be purchased.
