Why not come and join the Fright Nights Norfolk team for our first investigation of the Elizabethan House. The house was built around 1596 by Benjamin Cowper who resided there until 1635, when he sold the house to John Carter.
One of John Carter's friends was Oliver Cromwell, who frequently visited his friend here. Will we find any links back to Oliver Cromwell’s House where Fright Nights also hold Ghost Hunting Events.
These premises became a regular meeting place for Parliamentarians during the Civil War and it is here, allegedly, in November 1648 that the fate of King Charles I was decided.
From 1667 fourteen different families have lived in the house until the Aldred family purchased it in 1870 and it was in 1949 that the last surviving member of the Aldred family passed away.
Paranormal events are a regular occurrence at Elizabethan House, some which have been reported include ghostly footsteps, people being touched and voices from beyond.
