The museum is reputedly the most haunted site in the city, with many ghosts said to be lurking around the building.

Join a costumed guide by candlelight to hear some ghostly stories about the people who have lived and died in the corridors and galleries - including a ghostly servant, a phantom girl and the museum’s most notorious ghost: the ‘Lonely ANZAC’, Thomas Hunter.

You won't look at it in the same light again...

What to bring/wear

This is a walking tour and some of the museum has uneven floors, so please wear sensible footwear.

The tour takes place inside the Museum building, so outdoor coats are not required.

Accessibility

Unfortunately this event may not be accessible to those with mobility issues. The lift will not be available during the tour, and there are several sets of stairs, including steep stairs down to the museum cellars. Please contact us if you have a specific query.
