The Sixth Sense. Paranormal Activity. The Conjuring. Ghosts continue to captivate the public imagination, satisfying our primeval desire for a good scare… but the supernatural isn’t just the stuff of Hollywood.
From unconfirmed sightings of ghastly apparitions to dread-inducing felt experiences, Cockatoo Island has a history of paranormal occurrences that stretches back more than a century.
Find out for yourself with Ghostyard – A paranormal tour! To expose the unseen forces living on the island, the tour guide has been equipped with a K-II EMF reader – a device used in paranormal detection.
As you explore buildings rarely open to the public, they will help you make sense of the inexplicable by recounting macabre true tales, including grisly murders, botched prison escapes and incidents of gang violence.
Optional: Looking to test your fear threshold? Then book a Ghostyard Deluxe Camping Experience – after the tour, you’ll stay the night at the island’s urban campground. No need to bring or pitch a tent – we take care of that, so you can remain on high alert for spectral beings. Pleasant dreams, campers! ($205 including tour)
